SID THE SERPENT

WHO WANTED TO SING

MUSIC BY MALCOLM FOX

LIBRETTO BY sUSAN AND jIM vILé

Steven LaCosse, stage director

Mary Ann Bills, musical director

Sid is a dancing serpent in a circus - but all he wants to do is sing.

Wherever the circus travels he tries to learn a different style of singing,

with hilarious results - grand opera in Rome, music-hall in London

and rock in New York. He fails disastrously every time, until his

circus friends tell him that if he sings in his own style, he sings very well.

With over 4000 performances throughout the English-speaking world,

Sid the Serpent Who Wanted to Sing has everything an

audience of children could want - bright, cheerful music,

colourful costuming, the opportunity to participate and learn about opera.
