Katherine Ardoin

Mezzo-Soprano

 
     

Katherine Ardoin is a first-year Fletcher Institute Fellow, pursuing her Masters of Music. A native to Greensboro, North Carolina, she comes to Fletcher from the studio of Robert Overman.

 

Ms. Ardoin recently received her Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance, Magna Cum Laude, from Lee University, where she studied under Tony Deaton. Upon graduation she received the 2006-2007 Department of Vocal Music Outstanding Graduate Award, as well as the Performance Award. Other awards include 2004 winner of the Tennessee Music Teachers Association Collegiate Vocal Competition, 2005 state winner of the Music Teachers National Association Vocal Competition, 2006 winner of the Mid-South Region NATS Student Auditions-Senior Women Division.

 

While at Lee she performed the roles of Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus, and Dritte Dame in Die Zaubeflöte. Professionally, Katie has performed the role Cecily Cardew in The Importance of Being Earnest, and had the opportunity of creating the role of Paisley Connor in The Circuit Riders Wife.

 

As a student, Ms. Ardoin has had the distinct privilege of singing for great artists such as Sherrill Milnes, Johan Botha, Marcus Haddock, Oscar Kosarin and Stella Zambalis.

 

Performing sacred works is close to Katie’s heart. She has performed as concert soloist the Beethoven Mass in C Major, Op. 86, Vivaldi Gloria, Mendelssohn Drei Geistlich Lieder, and Bach Cantata, Op. 78. She continues to sing at churches in the area, as well as her own.  Katherine will be working with Dr. Marilyn Taylor.
